You are GOLD!
You remember that fairy tale about the Golden Goose right? It's no longer a fairy tale; the real thing has arrived! Well, almost. We're proud to present the Golden Duckie, the latest and most stylish duckling to be issued from the Big Teaze Toys fleet.
Actually, the I Rub My Duckie Paris Gold landed in our warehouse a few weeks ago but I wasn't paying attention, until I walked past it today and was embarrassingly excited about it. We at GetMePleasure really love the I Rub My Duckie range of toys; they walk the line perfectly between the eye-wateringly cute and leg-weakeningly pleasurable, and they've proven to be really successful. You lot like them as much as we do, and that's why we're over the moon to be stocking this new one; the I Rub My Duckie Paris Gold!
The Paris Gold is a full-size duckie (as opposed to a travel size one), but just like the other Paris Duckies the feather boa and real Swarovski crystal are present. This time though, the Duckie is wearing a rather fetching floral tattoo design along its right wing. Oh yeah, and the whole Duckie is finished in a beautiful, shimmering gold.
If you're new to the I Rub My Duckie vibrators, then perhaps I should explain a little about what it is exactly. Condom Sizing
Condoms are catching the Pill as the most widely used contraceptive in the UK, and when they're used properly they can be around 98% effective. Using a condom in conjunction with the Pill is virtually guaranteed to prevent pregnancy in most cases, but there are some reasons why some couples might have issues with this. Many women are reluctant to go on the Pill because they're worried about the side-effects – weight gain and depression, for example, are very rare side-effects of the Pill but they do exist and can be a cause for concern.
Matters Of Size
Since the best alternative to the Pill is the condom, a lot of people rely on them to keep them safe. The problem is that men's opinions of condoms are divided. Actually, in all honesty, opinion isn't that divided about condoms; most men either hate them or tolerate them. Very few men actually love them, and given the option even fewer men would choose to wear one rather than go unprotected, especially if they trust their partner.
Why should this be? The condom is arguably one of the most important medical inventions of the last century, singlehandedly stemming the flow of HIV/AIDS in the western world and helping to combat the spread of other sexually transmitted diseases better than any other product. So why do men turn their backs on condoms so readily? The answer is that, for around 50% of men (according to an American sexual health survey released today), condoms are uncomfortable, ill-fitting, irritating, and reduced the pleasure of sex so significantly that many men reported removing the condoms completely during sex.
The report suggested that men were reluctant to use condoms if they weren't comfortable and that ill-fitting condoms break easier; an obvious and dangerous problem. After reading this article about condom sizing on the BBC New website, we at GetMePleasure thought it might be useful to bring all of our condoms together and talk about sizes, so that you can be more certain that the condoms you're buying will fit comfortably. In alphabetical order:
Durex Condoms
There are loads of Durex condoms in the range, and Durex is one of the most recognisable condom brands in the world (it's definitely the most successful condom brand in the UK). For a full discussion of the types, click here to read my full review of the Durex condom range, but for now, here's how they stack up size-wise. The Durex Close Fit, Sensation and Ribbed condoms are all 17.8cms in length and between 4.9 and 5.3cms wide. Durex Pleasuremax condoms are almost 2cms longer at 19.5cms and around 6cms wide.
The Durex Elite, Extra Safe, Featherlite, Performs, Select Flavours, Tingle and Avanti Ultima are all 20.5cms long and around 5.8cms wide. The largest of the Durex condom range at the time of writing is the Comfort XL, which is 25.1cms long and up to 6.3cms wide.
EXS Condoms
The EXS condoms are pretty new to GetMePleasure but they've already proven very popular, and they're a personal favourite of mine. The entire range measures 19cms long and 5.4cms wide.
Skins
The three types of Skins condoms that we stock (Dots & Ribs, Ultra-Thin and Regular vary slightly in size. The Dots & Ribs and Ultra Thins are both 20cms long by 5.2cms wide, and the Regular condoms are 21cms long by 5.2cms wide.
Trojans
There are several different types of Trojan condoms on GetMePleasure, and they tend to be quite long but a little narrower than our other brands. They're very stretchy though, so don't worry too much. The Ultra-Thin, Shared Pleasure, Regular Non-Lubricated, Trojan Ultra Ribbed, Very Sensitive, ENZ Lubricated, Her Pleasure and Magnum Large Condoms are all 19.8cms long by 3.5cms wide. The Magnum Large and Supra condoms are both 20.3cms by 3.8cms, and the Magnum XL condoms are 21.6cms long and 4.5cms wide.
If this information is all a bit numbery, then here it is in a chart. This is arranged from smallest to largest in terms of length, but please remember that a condom's width is the real key to its comfort.

As a final tip when it comes to picking a condom, it's always best to choose a larger condom than a smaller one. If a condom is too tight, the chances of it splitting are greatly increased and that's far more dangerous than the condom slipping out of position.
